This book was so much fun! Loved the characters and the scrapes they (and others) got themselves into. And absolutely loved the Indonesian setting!

This book reads very YA!
I picked this book up because I will soon take a trip to Indo. It was a gift because many books centering Indonesian history or authors don't have an audiobook component, or at least my library doesn't have them in stock. I managed to learn a couple things about Indo through this book: it's a more conservative nation, different monuments and places and its big coffee industry.
As for the novel itself, it was cute. The characters inner dialogue was pretty dramatic. Overall, the relationships between the characters was the best part. I loved Shar and Kiki's cousin relationship and Eleanor and Kiki's friendship.

Romcoms aren't really my thing, but I thought I'd give this a chance. It was a bit hit or miss for me and a little too long as well. It does have a good sense of humor though and the audiobook narrators did a good job. It's a solid YA series opener, but I don't think I'm interested enough to come back for book 2. That said, I would like more of Sharlot's mom's story.

(Audiobook) I don't give a romace book 5 stars easily, but this one definitely is 5 stars.
Sharlot and George are adorable and funny people. I loved the dual pov in this story!
When I saw reviews saying it was laugh out loud funny i took it with a grain of salt but i really did laugh out loud at some parts of the story.
The way Sutanto describes Jakarta and Bali made me really curious about Indo and now its on my travel list. She also incorporates the Chinese-Indo history and values very beautifully and interestingly.
Extra plus where the voices and accents that were used in the audiobook, very well done.
