Pretty good. There were bits i didn't quite understand. What was the point of the whole assassin bit at the start?? But overall a good spoof I'd say.
This book was very good for keeping my mind off my up-and-coming A-Level results day and has the usual Pratchett fun. However, I personally didn’t find the characters as likeable as others from the series.
My favorite thing about Terry Pratchett is that he writes fantasy stories that aren't about who is going to be king. This book was about a king. I also miss those really horrific jokes from the first 4 or so books tbh.
The best thing about this story was learning the identity of the greatest mathematician on the Disc.
Definitely wouldn’t skip this.
Gives a bit of breathing room from “the usual”
Suspects. Although you do get the ocassional repeat character. This was a good romp in a different direction.

I'm being a bit generous with 3 stars as it's far from Pratchett's best work. I often wasn't entirely sure what was going on, but there are a good few gems scattered throughout, particularly a scene with a Sphinx.
I did quite enjoy this one. Am realising that Terry Pratchett is using his books to make an amusing commentary that is not so far from real life as you may think. I like the way he uses the real world and puts a new twist on it. But I'm still not quite bonding with these Discworld books completely. Which is bizarre as the humour is so up my street (in just about any other setting).
This one? Definitely quantum. ;)
More seriously: one of the best of the Discworld series I've read so far - I'd place this second only to Equal Rites. But for the now tiresome jokes about light on the Disc blah blah blah this might have got a five star review; Teppic is a wonderfully constructed character and the clever bending of mathematical principles was delightful.

This one was not my favourite of the disc world novels so far I have to say, probably not helped by my cat turning poorly half way though so my mind was not really on it. You know what it's like, you read the words but they don't make sense!
I was never sure how to pronounce the name of the town, Djelibeybi, my version was along the lines of Delhi baby, probably way out on that one!!
I quite liked the beginning in the assassins guild, I guess you have to learn about potions and different way to kill someone somewhere! I also liked the character of the camel, You Bastard, not a big part, but he kind of stood out for me.
The last half of the book, which was playing with time, equations, science etc got a bit confusing and not so easy to follow, probably not helped as explained above. Still enjoyable and worth a read though.

excellent story-loved the parody of gods and religion, just couldn’t stand the way the woman (singular) was written
