Dead If You Don't

Peter James

Back on form with this one. Tightly timed plot kept the book moving and meant less of the personal lives of the main characters, although there were some intriguing seeds planted.

3.5 stars

Another brilliant Roy Grace novel, I loved this instalment, and the series remains my favourite crime series to date.

In some of the latest in this series, I found the Sandy
sub plot to be a rather tiresome and unnecessary
distraction which detracted from the quality of the
books themselves.

Fortunately, Mr. James has put this behind him in his
latest Grace offering, producing an exciting page
turner which I thoroughly enjoyed. involving the
Albanian Mafia in Brighton embroiled in kidnap,
murder and double cross.

RIP Sandy.

ps. Dear Mr. James,
In my opinion, Cassian Pewe is past his sell by date as
well. It would give me great pleasure if you have him
horribly murdered at the start of Book 15 by, for example, a serial
killer targeting senior police officials .......( Please).

Of course another brilliant book from Peter James!
This novel centres around a pretend kidnapping gone wrong. James highlights the time critical response of the police responding to a kidnap very successfully! The entire novel is set over a 48 hour period which really sucks the reader into this fast paced reading experience!
There are so many different elements to the story that you're constantly wondering how they are related?? But of course it all becomes clear and when it does you have to admire James' writing ability and imagination to just pull it out of the bag every time.
Roll on book 15!

I really enjoyed reading this book, the story flowed fluently with plenty of twists and I read it in a day, plenty of intrigue and action with lots going on, a very good book
