It's safe to say I hate Future Flash and man, the plot twists get trippier and trippier.

First half was lame. Lots of inconsistencies with drawings. (At one point Barry looked like he could have been a Trump son.) didn't like the storyline, but I appreciated the Thawne line. Oh! And Patty finally left him, which hopefully makes more room for Iris? <3

Art layouts were fine but the faces were not. Felt like this cobbled together a bunch of other ideas: Spider-Man's Savage Land, Black Bolt's suit, Some versions of a jaded harsh Batman. Nothing really happened except to pit what was done last volume back in order.

Good story but I wish it was much longer. The story seemed like it was over in a ......... wait for it......you know it's coming.......Flash.

The Good: Relationship building, non-powered characters sharing page time, and alternate versions of Barry. Comics can often be a series of unconnected colourful action sequences strung together. That can be fun for a while, and that's largely what the New 52 has been for a while, but it gets stale after a bit. The last two volumes of the Flash have improved on that, by focusing as much on Barry's friends and family, his work environment, and having him de-powered for half of this volume, its been a breath of fresh air coming off the Teen titans run. Seeing future Barry be ruthless and efficient is something I've always wanted to see. Like the Superior Spider-man run, or spawn and venom, its always cool to see hero who doesn't have a high moral stance and refuses to do the difficult things even if it might save lives.

The Bad:
I'm not a huge fan of Brett Booth. Everything looks metallic, faces are always distorted and no one has a normal expression. Also he thinks everyone walks while sticking their butt out and contorting their spine while waving a hand in the air.
Outside of the art, I think future Barry was done dirty. I think he had a point, that sometimes villains need to be killed. We've seen it time and time again with batman villains, they WILL get out and they WILL kill again. He's seen things go bad and it's his history, he knows he can save lives by taking one. But the writers, rather than double down on it and go down as an anti-hero, have him realize the error of his ways and sacrifice himself to stop the short-lived big bad.
The last villain was very short lived, with about 4 pages of villain time. I hope he isn't tossed aside for Thawne, and that he has more play later on.

This volume was a solid, good read.
I really liked the continuation of the plot of Barry, his future self and all the complications and problems that go along with it. It was interesting and fun to read about. Surprisingly, I enjoyed Patty's character in Savage World quite a bit. I feel like she was super down to earth, realistic and sympathetic. Iris on the other hand unnerved me to no end. I really did not like how she was portrayed in this volume. Moreover, I liked the character arc Barry-from-the-future got as well as seeing how Barry fared on an island beyond time and space.
Overall, I was continually engaged and intrigued in the story and where it was going. The art was good as well. I'm excited to see what adventures await the Flash next.

A good conclusion to the previous story, as usual the time spent in the speed force was obscure and only mildly entertaining.

Definitely the best Flash graphic novel I've ever read.

Present day Flash is knocked back to some Prehistoric dinosaur savage speed force land where all is not what it seems.
Future Flash has come back to present day to right all the wrongs of his past and save all the people that he couldn't save the first time.

Story - amazing
Art - best in the business
Pacing - edge of your seat
Characters - some of the best the series has ever had

Really Good Stuff

Ehhhhh. I'm never a fan of these dinosaur story lines. They are too predictable.
