I swear each Thursday Next book is better than the last. Really enjoyed this latest installment! Looking forward to the newest book!

Fun times, obsessed with the piana randomly being in Emma 🤣 definitely a book to be enjoyed by those who read a lot/know the western classics cannon

The last Thursday Next novel, which admittedly I read over two years ago, left me a little flat so I was over joyed to find First Among Sequels to be a riotous adventure with twists, turns, and laugh out loud book jokes as only Fforde can create.

Starts out a little slow but picks up to the Thursday Next goodness we're used to about half way through.

Liked it, though I thought this one was a bit choppier than the others. But fun, in its imagined other world where the literary and the "real" overlap with real consequences for both worlds. It's annoying to me when I don't get all the literary allusions -- have a lot more reading to do.

Although I enjoyed this novel, it's by far my least favourite of the series so far.

It kept up the now expected course of events that happen to Thursday and her family. I just didn't find the story as relatable as I have with the previous books.

Fforde has nicely set up the next book though which should hopefully be a full return to form.

I don't know if I really read it per se. I ended up skimming it and never really got into the story. Makes me a little sad.
