I really enjoyed it. It was definitely not a book that required much thought but if you like Indiana Jones or Josh Gates of Destination Truth / Expedition Unknown you will enjoy this book. I would absolutely be down for a sequel, I’m sad I owned this book for 2 years before actually reading it. I didn’t like the ex wife aspect though, that was some weird added drama that just didn’t seem necessary.

OK, I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND IF PEOPLE DON'T LIKE THIS BUT I DID. It's basically The Cave meets Cabin in the Woods + it's verY OBVIOUS that [b:The Anomaly|36342156|The Anomaly (The Anomaly Files, #1)|Michael Rutger|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1508879817l/36342156._SY75_.jpg|58022145] was written by a screenwriter (!) + it's very OUT THERE and features some Elements That Could Make People Less Likely To Believe In The Possibility of Whats Happening -- but it's just real' good. The storyline is slow-paced but entertaining and engaging, the chapters are short but always catch your interest, the characters are all multidimensional and flawed and I just really likED AND CARED ABOUT THEM, the twists and turns are WEIRD and FASCINATING and seemed very old and fresh at the same time. But everything just worked and fit together! The story includes some aspects of Tomb Raider, Escape Rooms and Alchemy which WAS SO COOL. And I dig it. I dig it so much.

Nicknames for my Favorite Characters: Nolan The Part-Time Bullshitter, Ken The Careless, Gemma The Ruthless, Molly The Mum + Pierre The Perfect. <3

What an insanely weird, yet engrossing story. Combining conspiracy theories, religion, and all out scifi terror for an amazing ride that made you feel like Nathan Drake as you started putting the pieces together with the main characters. Definitely read it!

This book was so crazy! And Good! And ridiculous! And I just loved it!

I really enjoyed the writing - great voice for the main character, Nolan - loved his sarcasm, his wit, and dryness to the narration. Great supporting cast of characters as well. This is like...sci-fi/horror/suspense, and I thought that it was done very well.

The suspense was done very well - I was SO nervous for these people, and I can't imagine being in those caves in the dark, facing what they did. Great book! This author might be one to keep an eye out for - looking forward to what he thinks up next!

I loved the premise of this, and I saw another Goodreads reviewer wrote to read this if you like cave books, which I do, and it was super interesting and pretty fun. Effective mystery, but you can tell this guy is a screenwriter because I really think this would’ve made a better movie than book. I want to see all the creatures and orbs!

oh WOW. wow. fabulous. grand. so much more than you expect. very cinematic, and so engrossing. one of my favorite survival stories i’ve read, plus a backdrop of a liminal space that kind of boggled the mind… easy five stars!

This immediately felt familiar, reminding me of Ararat and I wish I had done the same thing I had done with that book and stopped reading before I got too far in. The familiarity only grew once Nolan had figured out the clue Feather gave him.

All of the characters came across as unpleasant people, our main character Nolan, most of all.

It took a very long time for anything to happen and even then, I wouldn't really have called this horror.

This book is so much fun that I read it in only a couple of days. It is fast-paced and full of suspense, with great characters. Kind of an Indiana Jones meets The Descent meets Evolution story. I loved it and would really like to read more adventures from the same team of players.

This was so fun. Quick, fast paced, actually likable characters who were funny and also spoke like real people! I really like the inclusion of multimedia and the mythologies discussed were interesting. It added an extra layer to make this a little more in depth than your average action/horror novel.
