As a British person of colour working towards a career in medicine, this book was a really interesting read and informed me of some disappointing but not surprising things about the industry. I’d love to read more of Sowemimo’s work.

A book everybody should read!! I was kindly gifted this book but was under no obligation to post reviews or anything. But I have to say I really do think this should be recommended reading for everybody. It was SO eye opening and almost unbelievable in parts. We like to think that, as a modern society, things like healthcare aren’t discriminatory. But boy is that false. I was aware of some of the discrepancies in health care, but seeing how deep some of these things run was really shocking. I’m so glad I read this.
