“You’re your own person. You are not your mother. You’re yourself. Your thoughts, your feelings, they all belong to you.”
Remember that penultimate episode of Breaking Bad, Ozymandias, where the inevitable collapse you waited the whole show happened? That’s this volume of Blood on the Tracks. Everything comes crashing down. Which we know is actually a good thing for Seichi.
Now we see Sei grappling with his identity in the wake of it all. A particular traumatic moment that the series has been hinting at from the beginning is suddenly unlocked for Sei. It’s horrifying & revelatory.
I’d give this one 6 stars if I could.
“Sei, did you hate me all along?”

Blood on the tracks continues to be interesting, yet it feels like maybe it's losing its focus?
We have our main character finally figuring out how he feels inside. What he did. How he must react to his mother getting arrested. It's interesting because nothing out of the blue happens, no big breakout, no sudden death. Just how a case would go and how to find out if the guilty is, well, guilty. By the end though we get a piece of the puzzle on what happened in the past and wow, it's disturbing.
A 4 out of 5.
