Holy shit... das eine war irgendwie anders, aber wieder in gewohnter Qualität.
Es macht echt Spaß zu sehen, wie Butcher vom Buch zum Buch besser wird.
Kann die Serie nur empfehlen.

There were so many things going on in this book, I hardly know where to start. Jim Butcher has always been good at putting his characters into the worse situations and then somehow finding levity in it all. The Lord of the Rings conversation will forever be etched in my memory. The twists and turns of this book definitely left me wondering what is next for Harry...I guess I'll have to wait and see next spring.

The most emotional one yet

Major upheavals in Harry's life, and quite a dramatic ending! What can be next. I love Butcher's writing and sarcasm. Also, I love that his characters try to do the right thing no matter their problems; they don't go for the easy solution but try to do what's right.

Butcher really puts Harry through the wringer in this book. Major personal losses for Harry and a life-changing decision. Except the end leaves you wondering if there will even BE a life beyond this story.

I was somewhat disappointed with the overly scripted and very predictable outcome of the rescue of Maggie, I thought that this was going to be a 2 or 3 star rating. And then the end came suddenly and unexpected. I love a good twist! Can't wait until I know out my current reading list so I can take up Side Jobs.
How long can Jim Butcher continue to recycle the same script: 1) Dresden takes on a client who is an underdog. 2) Dresden faces overwhelming odds. 3) He gets his but kicked and goes without sleep for 2 or 3 days 4) He gets angry and then wins..... Seems like this is his recipe for each and every book. Now the ending to Changes certainly implies that there will be changes moving forward.

Oh, I cried. Like a little bitty baby!

Susan re-enters Dresden's life with a bombshell. Dresden's life is taken apart. Dresden gets beat up badly in this series-- sometimes it is very off-putting. This wasn't one of my favorites in the series. Lots of destruction. Lots of pulling in various characters. Big battle at the end.

Butcher keeps upping the stakes on Harry Dresden, and the results here are spectacular and messy. This is a very tense book, bringing together a lot of Dresden's far-flung cast, and changing the course of several characters in ways both subtle and not. I was on the edge of my seat for pretty much the entire second half.
