A pleasant four star mystery that got 4.5 stars for two reasons:
I didn't guess the ending.
Hastings obsessed with a dog is far more enjoyable to read about than Hastings obsessed with a girl (as he usually is).
Original DNF review:
Coming back to this book, obviously, but I'm going to need a different edition, because the formatting in this kindle book is full of this sort of thing in the middle of words -- #^~. Too distracting.
Moderate: Chronic illness, Suicide, Xenophobia, and Murder

pretty standard hastings-era poirot. hugh fraser reads the audiobook, which i enjoyed as a fan of the pbs series.
entirely unnecessary use of n-word.
Moderate: Death, Racial slurs, Xenophobia, and Murder
Minor: Bullying, Chronic illness, Cursing, Violence, Xenophobia, and Classism
The n-word is used two or three times in one chapter (the title of which includes the slur). it is not used anywhere else. it is not directed at any particular person.calliopereads's review against another edition
