I definitely prefer the ending of Pygmalion to that of My Fair Lady!

I didn't realize how much "My Fair Lady" deviated from the original play. The basic plot is there, with many of the same lines, but the ending of "Pygmalion" surprised me by happening so quickly and differing so much from the musical. Now that I have thought about it a bit, I find Shaw's original story more compelling. The focus is on human nature instead of romantic endings, even if both endings offer something resembling happiness.

WHAT, THIS IS SO QUEER, IS IT INTENTIONAL????!!!
Also the fact that the play ends and then Shaw spends the next 5-10 pages writing an epilogue-cum-flowershop!AU in which he explains that everyone else's headcanons are WRONG is destroying me.
(I read the Project Gutenberg edition, which I don't think has an ISBN.)

Feminism? In my 1913 play? It's more likely than you think.

First play that ever made me laugh. It's original and quirky, and Eliza gives off a feeling of independance.
