Pygmalion: Or, I Ain't No Peasant Gurl, Imma Fair Lady
When two old, rich English men take in a streetwise flower girl for fun and then expect said streetwise flower girl to just comply, they find they are sorely mistaken. Henry Higgins and Colonel Pickering are the "gentleman" of the tale who decide it is their duty to help poor lil uncouth Eliza Doolittle. The arrogance on display can't be hidden from Eliza.
It would make for a fun play to see the back-and-forth between Higgins and Eliza, but reading about it gets old fast. Higgins is a pompous douche who I'm glad to see gets put in his place. His motivations for doing what he did came from a place of douchbaggery and Eliza should've busted his ass. She gained a lot from him, but still, he's a sniveling ass.

This play was delightful. It is the play version of "My Fair Lady." I had never seen "My Fair Lady" so I savored the play and how it would end. It was cute and fairly an easy read. It can get frustrating trying to decipher what Liza is trying to say though, because of her heavy accent.

This production was well done, but I am not sure I really enjoyed the story as much as I thought I would. And clearly did not get the point of the final chapter.
