This book was very interesting the way it was laid out and the pacing, I was disappointed by the ending.

simply written...in a good way, and still meaningful.

Four stars to the first half; two for the second. Averages out to 3.
I can appreciate Cleave's writing, and his attention to the smallest of details. However, (No spoiler) the crime itself that was the crux of this story, while horrific, ended implausibly. Even if I suspend disbelief, several things in the second half just didn't ring true, and it took me out of the story. Anything that takes me out of the story gets downgraded. Still, it was a decent read.

This book was highly recommended to me by a friend at work. I think it's a very good book for anyone with any interesting in the immigration discussion to read. It shows that usually, people who flee their country have a good reason to do so. That being said, I didn't like a couple of the story lines - unlikable characters drive me nuts.

The author, Chris Cleave, describes this book as an experience in "living a life in a world with atrocities." The world of Little Bee is full of grief, yet there are also beautiful insights. I will be thinking about this book for ages.
