So well written, but I probably would not have picked it up had I known how horrifying the plot elements would be. Had to put it down for a while and then come back to it.

Interesting topic but took me a LONG time to read and felt slow. I would recommend because it's interesting but it's definitely not my favorite book.

Strong first half, weak second half. Wouldn't recommend.

I really enjoyed this book. While I see where some of the lower stars are coming from with this book (and do agree that the ending was a little unrealistic in a way, it glossed over some things, and had other moments that I was like....hm...), I felt the overarching story was incredibly powerful but easy to get through in the way it was presented. The story wasn't easy though - it was raw, it was challenging, it really was thought provoking. I felt like this tried to cover a lot of things and horrible experiences in such a short book and for that I think it did a really good job. In the kind of time that we are living in right now, especially in America, I think this is the perfect book to get people thinking and being aware. It was a decent summary of some peoples experiences as refugees and the horrible treatment that they go through. And the feelings that they have - fear, invisibleness, and so much more.

Okay, someone else has to read this so we can talk about it. I gave it 4 stars as it was a compelling story with a very thought provoking topic. I still have some issues with it that we can discuss after someone reads. It is definitely worth reading and an easy read. Not a light book by any means, but face paced and as I said very thought provoking...

I knew absolutely nothing about this book going into it. I couldn't put it down. Wasn't crazy about the last few pages, but everything up to those pages was brilliant storytelling. Heartbreaking and spellbinding.

I think it would have been better if it was written by a woman

Started reading this & realized I already read it like 6 years ago under a different title! It’s called “Little Bee” in the US
