Most things in this book are self-explanatory and even obvious, but it's worth taking a little time to think about self-help from time to time.

So pretentious... A good place to start in the philosophy of owning less (the first 2 chapters), living more meaningfully but there are so many other resources for this that are literally so much more meaningful!

Good to hear, although it's hard to write some notes while hearing and driving a car. I might buy the paper or kindle version to make some notes.

Good, if you want to get some ideas on what might be important in life, in your life.

This is not a step by step recipe to accomplish what is important in your life. I would have been surprised if they know me and wrote the recipe for me, personally.
So, be open to adapt, ask yourself some questions and act upon the answers.

I am a bit surprised by the negative reviews for this book. While true that this book is not a step by step guide to being a minimalist, it does a good job of explaining a more holistic approach to life in which all decisions consider minimalist values. It was a quick read that felt inspiring and wholesome. As someone who has begun to explore the minimalist lifestyle, this was a good reminder that there is a lot more to life than getting rid of your stuff.

Quick and clear advice...but motivating! They give concrete advice for getting rid of the unimportant "stuff" in your life to focus on what is important.

I sat and read this in one sitting and it only took me a couple of hours. I seriously love revisiting the Minimalists on all platforms. I can't tell you how many times I have seen the documentary and continue to watch it. It keeps me pondering the important things in life. It also has me constantly working on improving myself. Josh and Ryan and fun, honest, and intelligent. I highly recommend this book. Best of luck in finding your way to meaning through minimalism! It's a FUN journey.
