2025 reread

5 stars because this is a book that I will constantly think about as it has changed or challenged my thinking.

A personal look at how the death penalty affects people, specifically the wrongfully convicted. This book shows that mercy may be the biggest thing we're missing in our justice system

This is a must read, especially for anyone who lives in the United States. It’s a look into the cruel, hidden reality of our “justice” system. I think most Americans think our system is a joke, but this novel gives much needed perspective. For every 9 people that are executed on death row, at least one person was innocent. That is a statistic that should concern everyone.

A must-read for every citizen of the USA.
