WOW!! I though Make Me Forget was jam packed with emotion. Show Me How is over flowing. Brandon has all but given up trying to find Mary.

He heads home to Chicago where his life was forever changed in a moment. The woman he loved with all that he was had fled in the night. 12 years have come and gone and still nothing.

Until a chance meeting. He is determined to never let her go. After 12 years of hiding she doesn't know how to hold on. 12 years of fear and paranoia cannot be fixed a day, week, or month. At times I wasn't sure it was even possible.

Brandon is a true prince. He will stop at nothing to rescue the princess and keep her safe.

I am totally hooked on this series by Anna Brooks. This book brought us the story of Mary and Brandon. These two were childhood sweethearts but due to u fortunate circumstances and decisions, Mary ran away. It took Brandon twelve years to finally stumble on her. This second chance at love is heart warming, and heart wrenching. I love the intertwined characters from the first book as well as getting to know Baprandon's parents better. I just love his mom's unconditional love and intuition that she has(being a therapist helps I am sure) and his dad is just such a positive man, you can't help but love him.

Anna Brooks has an amazing way of telling a story with such emotion. The men are incredibly loving and compassionate without losing any testosterone...they are all male. Their damaged women, though having their issues are strong and are able to overcome their obstacles. I have fallen for these books and cannot wait for the next in the series.

I am listening to this series, looking forward to book three coming out with the continuing narration by angels on Hobbes and Neva Navarre. This team is giving us a dual POV that is so enjoyable, I couldn't stop listening.

I loved this. That first love, the one you only read about. Mary and Brandon had that, until a tragic night that she blamed herself for and went into hiding to protect Brandon and his family. Fast forward 12 years and a chance meeting at a hotel getting his brother Travis' girlfriend. The feelings are still there and it takes a while for her to realize things she thought were wrong and she didn't have to protect Brandon and his family. Through it all they do d their way back to each other. There were so many sweet moments but my favorite is when she makes him dinner, all clues to a secret that will changes their loved forever but in the best way.

Mary and Brandon have been friends for years. She hadn't had the best home life and soent most of her time at Brandon's house. When their feelings started ro change, brandon promised his dad he wouldn't pursue her till they graduated. But before they could act tragedy hit and Mary left without a trace. She felt it was the only way she can keep everyone safe. Now 10 years later on a chance meeting thanks to Charlotte, Travis' lady, Brandon knows where Mary is.
Brandon because a detective for 2 reasons, his dad was a oolice officer and he wanted to find the only woman he has ever loved. Now that he knows were she is and she is back in his life he will stop at nothing to make up for lost time. As they start off slow to rebuild their relationship Mary is working on getting over her guilt. Brandon is showing her love that she never thought she deserved.
This book is has a little more action in it, and a lot more of a stubborn woman. It send you through a rollercoaster of emotions.

In this Mary quote you see that she is finally willing to give her whole heart to Brandon and never look back. "Its feels like an invisible weight lifted of my shoulder... and I'm finally able to fly."

Brandon has always held up hope hw would find Mary and show her how much he loved her and you can see that with this, "She really is okay. We're okay. Nothing and nobody will change that, ever. Because i finally have everything i ever wanted. Mary didnt make it easy to find her, but loving her is as easy as breathing."

FIVE STARS
Anna Brooks has written another amazing book!
Mary and Brandon are the very best of friends and have been since they were 13. Sharing a birthday they celebrate together every year at Brandons house. Brandons parents treat Mary like a daughter. Mary comes from a very troubled home and after several of her parents friends have tried to get into her room at night she runs and sneaks into Brandons house and room to spend the night.
Brandon has made a promise to his dad that no matter what he will NEVER "do anything" with Mary until they are out of high school. Despite the fact that he has fallen in love with her, Brandon will keep is promise to his dad, but he never dreamed how hard it would become over the next few years.
Then all chaos breaks loose. During a break-in at her home Mary is attacked and Brandons dad is the officer responding. Not going into detail as I dont want to throw out any spoilers. I was on the edge of my seat. After this attack Mary disappears, leaving everyone and everything behind except for a small box of memories and a few personal items. She isnt seen or heard from again.
Brandon spends 12 years looking for the love of his life. What could have happened to her. Why has no one seen her. During a day of looking for his brother Travis's girl friend after she runs away upset, Brandon finds Mary.
This is a story about running and hiding, lying and leaving, seeking and finding. Can she trust again, will she be able to stop running from her demons? Will Brandon be able to break down her walls?
WONDERFUL book. I couldnt put it down. Could totally be a stand alone. But the characters from book one do intermingle with this book but not in a confusing way.
Absolutely love the depth of emotions that Anna Brooks creates in her characters.

Show me How is the second book in the ‘It’s Kind of Personal’ series by Anna Brooks. I thought this was a fantastic second book in the series, again it was well written and I was hooked from the very first page. It is a standalone novel but I would really recommend reading the first book in the series. You will not be disappointed with it!

This second book is about Mary and Brandon. One choice can ruin everything – when a stop at a shady motel puts Brandon Parker face to face with his best friend, Mary, for the first time in over a decade, he almost didn’t believe it. He’d never stopped searching for her, but even a career in law enforcement couldn’t help him find a woman who wanted to stay invisible. When Mary Benson ran away at eighteen, she did it with good reason. A man was in the hospital because of her, and the people she loved in danger. She had to leave to keep them safe.

OMG this story was amazing! I loved the first book in this series but Mary’s story really got to me – it was just so sad and I really wanted to hug her and tell her that everything would be ok! This author certainly has a way of making you feel connected to the characters that you are reading about. I loved Travis, Brandon’s younger brother from book 1, but then I encountered Brandon.
WOW Brandon Parker! He’s hot, sexy, kind, thoughtful and a Detective (yummy!!) – he has definitely reserved a space on my book boyfriend list!! He really loves Mary and I was routing for this couple from the very beginning. They had loved each other since they were children and have been apart for 12 years. He never stopped searching for her even though he didn’t know whether she was alive or not. Total and utter true love!

Again this book ends with the next story becoming entwined into it and I think it will be Meara’s story (Charlotte’s cousin) – she has featured as a secondary character in this and the previous story. I think this is a clever writing style as I really want to find out what has happened to Meara.

I definitely had to give 5 stars to Show me How by Anna Brooks. I cannot wait for book 3!!

Show Me How is a story about Mary and Brandon. After being best friends for 18 years it was time to move their friendship to the next level. However as fate would have it, a tragic event happens. And by fate I mean a writer who enjoys a readers angst! Well done Anna Brooks! Brandon is the brother of Travis, from book 1. While some characters over lap this book can be read as a standalone…but where’s the fun in that!?
I really liked this book as it brings together a couple, Mary and Brandon, who are destined for each other.

“Just like always, he can see me. Right through every defense, he knocks down each wall built. He rights my wrongs and settles my nerves.”

Brooks also brings characters from book 1 back, cousins Meara, Pierce and DeClan. Liam and his band, and of course Charlotte and Travis. So, while it’s good to know that Charlotte and Travis are living their happily ever after, we can only the same be said for Mary and Brandon? After the accident that separates them for 12 years can they make up for lost time? Can Brandon show Mary that she belongs with him?

Anna Brooks writes characters you can believe in. They are not so over the top with too much money or too much attitude or too much charisma. They’re believable people with jobs and with feelings and with enough fight to get to the happily ever after. This story proves that love knows no distance or time and any mistakes can be fixed.

Anna Brooks delivers once again and I’m looking forward to cousin Meara in book 3 who is now due for a little happiness.

Show me How is the 2nd book in the Its Kind Of Personal Series by Anna Brooks, and it did not disappoint! Brandon and Mary were best friends when Mary's home life was anything but happy and loving. I loved getting to see the characters develop from the glimpses we got from book 1. Watching Mary grow and getting answers to burning questions!
This was a little more suspenseful than the first book but felt it was needed for this storyline. Once I thought I had it worked out, I was proven wrong!
Brandon Parker is a police officer, just like his father was. He's been searching for Mary for a decade and a chance encounter, thanks to his brothers girlfriend, he finds her at a shady motel. Childhood best friends and feelings emerging things take a turn and Mary disappears.
Mary was just a scared woman who never knew what it was like to always have a support system. She had Brandon and his family but that wasn't a feeling she was used to. When life events happen and she goes into hiding to protect those she cares for, little did she know 10 years layer her past would show up at the door.
I really don't want to say much because this was such a great read and these characters felt so real. Ms. Brooks sure knows how to grab your attention and not let you go. I didn't want to put this down once I started. Great series so far. Off to the next!!

Can Love Stand the Test of Time

This story is just as good as book 1. I'm really loving the Parker brothers! This story has more mystery then the first which adds a different dynamic. It still gives you intense emotion. Show Me How is filled with unconditional love, determination, self forgiveness, and learning to move out of the past. Its not always blood that makes you family.
