I could not put this down. The author has complete avoided the sophomore slump and brought us back to a world of intrigue, mystery and real occurrences of people of color being undermined. I didn’t even mind that this was a little long because this reminds me of the all too real reality that those in power are known to take from the marginalized time and time again.
