This was good. The author's notes at the end made it even better.

I was pretty excited to read the series. The Violin Conspiracy was clunky, pulling in the thriller elements but executing individual scenes without finesse. But given that it was a first-time author, I was willing to cut Slocumb slack, especially given the expertise about the music world and the rendering of the life. Of a musician of color, a fresh landscape to consider. But I don’t feel Symphony of Secrets was enough more accomplished to push me toward following this series any further.

I stayed up so late to finish this book. It was so fascinating and did a wonderful job bouncing between the past and present. My only complaint was the trope of the tech wizard solving all the problems, but what can you do?
