This book is completely different than the Violin Conspiracy by Brendan but it was equally as amazing. The mystery surrounding this one was great and the story pulled you in right away. Loved it
Wow. Just wow. I have made it an unofficial decision to put myself in the path of events, people, art, etc. that expose me to the reality so many of us never consider outside of own lives.
In “Symphony of Secrets,” Brendan Slocumb has done it again. This story is real, and raw, and deserves as much attention as is possible.

Symphony of Secrets is a very complex story that blends history and music into an intricate narrative shedding light on issues of appropriation, racism, and the obliteration of contributions to the music industry.
Bern Hendricks is asked to authenticate a newly discovered piece of music. However, the music holds a shocking secret, the discovery of which, forces Bern to confront uncomfortable truths about who is truly remembered and celebrated, and whose genius has been hidden away, never to be known.
It’s an engaging and suspenseful read but also a thought-provoking commentary about injustice. It’s a book that leaves readers reflecting on the silent stories behind great works of art and the importance of acknowledging contributions that have been unfairly erased. This is the third book I’ve read recently dealing with this theme.
Also, this story features a neurodivergent character, who is portrayed with great care and sensitivity, avoiding the usual stereotypes.
Bottom line, this book is an example of excellent storytelling. Also, please read the author’s note.
