I have finished the Baroque Cycle! The book and the trilogy were highly enjoyable. More importantly, there was an ending. Yes, it is true. A Stephenson novel had an ending. A fairly decent one too. I think System of the World was my favorite of the three books. It was constantly amusing me.

A mostly satisfying and more subdued conclusion to an extremely impressive and engaging saga. There were many strands in this epic to tie up and I felt a major one in particular was disappointingly neglected in favour of perhaps too much intricate numismatics.

Looking forward to the 100-episode big budget TV adaptation that someone surely must eventually make.

This was a fitting finish to an epic series. While the series had some off moments, this insalment builds perfectly to a crescendo. I finished it last week, and I'm still missing Jack and Daniel and Eliza. Having spent the better part of a year with them, it's not surprise I'm missing them.

A satisfying conclusion. Quicksilver is still my favorite, though.
