It was informative, but boring. The writing itself really drags at parts and is confusing in others because of so many historical characters being presented. A lot of the little details given in the book are arguably filler and there is little tussling with the layers that made up the suffragists’ cause (i.e. the racism in the groups) beyond a few sentences. No real historical argument is made so it’s simply an introduction to the history of the suffrage movement with little else. Good for that but not much else.

Read this for a class but it was actually super interesting. Points for acknowledging that most of the leaders of the women's suffrage movement were racist af

Interesting book. It's really an introduction to the fight for woman suffrage. I'd like something a bit more detailed and in depth, but this was a fine starting point.
