this book was a fascinating look into the ultra competitive and dangerous dance world, and it showed a very interesting look not only into the environment of the dancers, but also the mindsets that the dancers are put in. i thought the three perspectives were very good and important to the story for it to be played out as well as it was.
however, the romances are hella rushed because in this book, shit happens like THAT within a paragraph, so if you skip a paragraph, you might be like “where are they? what the hell are they doing? why are these people here, where’d they come from?” (which happened to me constantly, causing me to backtrack). so naturally, the romances progressed so that literally within 15 pages, Gigi and Alec like each other, Alec and Bette break up, and Gigi and Alec get together. Literally. 15 pages.
I honestly thought that Bette and June’s relationship was golden even though we saw barely any of it, and I thought that Henri and Bette’s “relationship” was so much more interesting than Gigi and Alec’s, even tho HenrixBette was literally 2 scenes and the other couple was shoved down our throats and up our asses the whole book.
I really couldn’t connect with the characters of Gigi and Alec, I really didn’t like them. I much liked June and Bette, however; to me, they actually have depth and layers, unlike the other two. It was really interesting to see how far these girls would go with their jealousy and lies. I really liked that aspect of the book.

This was truly amazing!
In Tiny Pretty Things we follow these three girls that go to an elite ballet school. Bette, who's older sister is kind of a legend and she's trying to follow in her footsteps. June, a half-Korean girl that suffers from an eating disorder and has always been the understudy. And Gigi, a black girl that just moved from California and is quickly rising to the top. These girls can get very competitive and things get intense!
My favorite thing about this book was how flawed the characters were - yet I still adored them. These girls strive for perfection when dancing ballet and are willing to do quite the awful things to achieve that. I never knew how to feel about each character. One moment I would love them, then I'd hate them and suddenly feel sorry for them.
There's also somewhat of a mystery aspect to this story because while Gigi is constantly being harassed, it isn't always clear who did what. It made me suspicious of every single character.
Overall I think this was a fantastic book and the fact that it's diverse AND #ownvoices made it 103% better and I definitely, DEFINITELY recommend this! I am so excited to read the sequel!

This book totally reminded me of Center Stage except in a book and way more dramatic. I liked it, although at times the extreme dramatics could be a little tiring. If you love all things ballet you will probably like this book. I waffled between a three and four star rating because the ending was exciting but I decided since there were times when I was like how long is this going to go on it only warranted a three. I will be reading the sequel at some point because I need to know what happened.

Desde que supe que esta bilogia iba a tener serie en Netflix me Moria de ganas por leerla y por lo mismo tuve expectativas altas las cuales no ha superado. Pero el libro en general me ha gustado.
Tenemos a tres personajes principales las cuales son Gigi, Bette y June, estas son bailarinas de ballet y luchan por obtener el papel principal. No he conectado con ellas pero la que más me agrada es Gigi.
El libro en sí es bastante entretenido y la pluma de las autoras es sencilla, aunque tenía problema a la hora de las descripciones que ponían en libro ya que eran muy largas y daban poco lugar a los diálogos.
El final me ha gustado mucho y ya quiero leer el segundo libro.

It was definitely entertaining enough to keep me reading through the end in two days. I don’t think that i will pick up the next one though, i might but I didn’t really feel like i want to know what happens next. Definitely can see why people call it Pretty Little Liars but with ballet. It’s definitely dramatic and suspenseful.

I really did enjoy this book. I love the drama and the rivalry that comes with ballerinas. I loved how complex every character is with all their secrets and little things that they don't tell anyone cause it will put them at a disadvantage. My favourite character was Will 100%. He deserves all the happiness in the entire world but he also needs better taste in men. I honestly don't have a favourite from the 3 leads. They are all annoying yet great in their own ways. I enjoyed Bette's chapters the most 100%. She's so dramatic and horrible to everyone. I loved reading her thought process. At times I thought the drama was a bit unrealistic but for the most part I could see the things that happened actually happen to ballerina's today.
Cant wait to get my hands on Shiny Broken Pieces and finish up this series (i think its a duology but i could be wrong).
