3.5 stars. I was at times leaning towards 4 but the things that bothered me, REALLY bothered me.

Damn. This dynamic really did it for me! More of this in romance books, please! I'm over the Dominate man and submissive woman trope. I want those roles reversed.

Some things did annoy me, like Kate judging the absolute shit out of others, including addicts. I completely understand that she had the childhood she did and that's a big part of why she thought the things she thought. But good lord, it was too much for me sometimes. Mikhail's lack of interest in donating his billions to charities pissed me off. He only did it because Kate demanded he do it and because he wanted her back. Oh well, at least he did it in the end, I guess.

There was also some character growth, which we truly love to see.

Been a long time since I read sth atypical. Really loved the femdom theme of the book. It was really well-written and the hero was a total sweety. It did require suspension of disbelief at times, like all the bleeding heart donation/saving-the-world stuff, but oh well. It's a romance book for a reason. I did like that it had two uncommon things, an unapologetically mercenary heroine and a dominant heroine. Very interesting and unusual to read about.

La fin était vraiment pas ouf, le coup du «  je suis incapable d’aimer » « toc toc tu l’aimes déjà »  «mais oui je l’aime » c’est NoN quand s’est bâclé comme ça tout ça pour faire un third act break-up

okay hear me out, but this felt like what if Maxim from [b:The Master|22471007|The Master (The Game Maker, #2)|Kresley Cole|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1403895236l/22471007._SY75_.jpg|41912217] was a submissive who lived to serve? so yeah basically i really love it.

my minor quibble was i felt a bit thrust (he he he) into Mikhail Volkov and Kate Pasternak's lives in the first chapter; she's been working at his company, struggles to make ends meet, and is aware of him as the owner but hasn't met him. He meets her just the once and is ready to proposition her and senses her domme-ness. ehhhh, okay? I wish there was a little more buildup on the front end but whatever, once we got going it was hot as fuck and really fun.

Loved that Kate is a midwestern girl from ANTIGO WISCONSIN lmao (personally hilarious), and that she was finding her way as a domme, but wasn't a total beginner either. also i felt this treated sex work in a far better way than a lot of similar books (including the Cole).

There's so much imagery of Mikhail as a shuddering, worked over stallion and well. that appealed to me as well lmao.

Didn’t care for the side plots or characters but the MC’s were great. Grovel, desperation, fem dom was HOT

Alpha male who wants to please and be dominated. Didn’t think I would get sucked into this but I did, even though it felt like Mikhail went from interested to desperate a bit fast…but dang was it hot!
