3/5 stars ⭐ I really enjoyed the MMC and most of the plot. The pacing was good, but the FMC started to drive me nuts. Her constant complaining about his weath while simultaneously spending it drove me insane. I read for escapism, and that kept taking me out of the fantasy. Let's be real, several if not most of us wouldn't be attracted to billionaires irl. I personally wish the trope was multimillionaire, but it's not, so there's no need to soil it with reality

For those of you who thought Anastasia & Christian were pathetic - this one might be for you. There is Pretty Woman level shopping, billionaire bashing, a man begging on his knees, mild femdom, being cared for when sick, and being loved warts and all. This is the story everyone should have been looking for when the world found Fifty Shades.
Ok so here’s the thing - was this a good book? No. But did I enjoy it? I plead the fifth.
Heather Guerre my queen! She cooked this up in a lab specifically for me. The characters were wonderful, and the writing was spectacular as always and had me staying up late to read on. She is truly the queen of chemistry! I was hooked on every chapter and never felt bored, or like I wanted to skip ahead. She even found a way to make a billionaire romance believable and hot in the current political climate (granted this came out in 2022). After this, I can confidently say she is one of my favorite (spicy) romance authors.
Graphic: Sexual content
Moderate: Addiction, Cursing
Minor: Alcoholism, Drug abuse, Abortion
This was exactly the palate cleanser I didn't know I needed. AND WHAT A GROVEL.
“Kate wasn’t used to being taken care of, and he kept doing little things, things he didn’t even seem to be aware of. Like reaching over to cover the corner of the table when Kate ducked down to retrieve a fallen chess piece so that she didn’t hit her head on it when she sat back up.”
AWOOOOOOGA... need i say more??? his groveling was FANTASTIC and the female oh my glob
Heather, I need you to know I love everything you’re doing and I need you to never stop.
But genuinely, if you’ve ever read a billionaire romance and thought “ah I like the idea of this because the idea of having lots of money just because someone likes me is great, but the idea of billionaires makes me uncomfy because that’s too much money”. This is the book for you!
This lady steps on a billionaire’s face and says “donate to a charity of my choosing” and it was the hottest thing I ever read. It was lovely imagining that my feminine wiles could spurn someone to do good. But also my feminine wiles could spurn someone to buy me shoes and a Dutch oven. Because while I like charity, I also like material possessions. And this book stepped on my face, looked me straight in the eyes and said “me too, bitch. And that’s okay”.
