I definitely enjoyed the first Grimluk book much more. My favourite part in this one was more so the preparations and final showdown. A lot of great demon and occult descriptions. I think part of what made me enjoy it less is that the writing style in many places seemed to change to suit a younger audience a little more in my opinion, but also felt the story dragged a little too much in some places compared with the first book where I always felt very into it. Still quite enjoyed the actual demon hunting bits though. Also thought a lot of Gwen's development quite cool and interesting but also some cases where I found I just couldn't get into her PoV as much. Curious to see where the third book will go.
