The story
Curtis and Megan have been business partners, friends with benefits and secretly in love with each other for the last six years. It takes chef Curtis losing his estranged father to force him back to his hometown. There, he finds out what his father to everyone else, even though his father distanced himself from Curtis when his mother died. It also forces Curtis to finally admit to Megan how he feels about her. Can she reciprocate?

My thoughts
Curtis is Grace, from the first book in the series, best friend, and we first meet him there. It’s super getting to understand him better, and his unusual relationship with his partner Megan. I enjoyed the dual perspectives of both characters, and how their sad backgrounds had shaped them. I enjoyed this story, although the ending wrapped up so quickly, I would have liked this to be a full-length, fleshed out story. ❤️
