This book was wayyy too long for what it was in my opinion. A lot of the writing felt very cheesy and juvenile honestly, but the characters and their chemistry made up for it. I did generally enjoy reading it up until the end where it just kept going and going. But the characters were strong and the story was compelling. I liked Ryder's deafness playing such a big role in the story and thought that was done very well. Overall it was an okay read and I appreciated the banter, but eventually it felt repetitive (re: terms of endearment they used for each other and plot).

Overall, I really liked this. The deaf representation was great (in the revised 2021 version). But some of the pacing and plot flow was a little off. And one big moment for the MMC happened for a reason that felt a little strange to me. I did really enjoy it, though, and will definitely read more of the series.

While I had a good time with this book, it was a struggle. I adored Ryder. He kept me interested. Willa fell flat and I found her to be annoying. Since I didn't like both of the main characters, the romance didn't give me everything I wanted.

I liked the pacing and the reflection of interpersonal emotions. The scenes of her mum and MMC made me cry.
I know some Swedish so it was fun to see recognisable words among the book. The football references (I don’t call it soccer) were specific and felt authentic but I don’t follow the spot so can’t be sure.
I don’t find Willa annoying like other reviewers. I can see why she is defensive and self reliant.
