This was so messy, and not in an entertaining way. The miscommunication trope generally falls flat for me, but especially so when there are multiple partners involved.

Audiobook was great!! German version even used neopronouns for Theo (no they/them in our language). If I cared more about wine or food, this would have been even better. Sadly i‘m sober and not very into cuisine

For some reason I was hell-bent on finishing this book. I think this had something to do with proving to myself that I CAN finish a romance novel. I am capable of it, see? It only takes 10 months.

My running theory is that Casey McQuiston got a grant for a European residency for research for a book and also that their editors have stopped editing their books. I was a bit more interested in the Calums and Dakota-Montana then the main couple, but c’est la vie. I did like the love nosebleeds, though.

DID NOT FINISH: 0%

One of the main characters shares my name and I could not get past it.

I loved this book! I didn’t take a European vacation this summer and this has really made me regret that. Am I going to book a food and wine tour? Who knows! The vibe of this really hit for me and I’m ready to look past any flaws and read more about these characters.

It took me so long to get hooked into this book. Theo’s character was insufferable and frustrating at times so it was difficult to get through their part of the book. But Kit… oh loverboy Kit how I love you so. Saved the book for me honestly, I could not put it down once I got to his half. I felt like grabbing them both by the shoulders and shaking some sense into them. JUST SPEAK!!! TALK!!! I did find myself actually laughing out loud, cackling even, over some situations & line delivery which, Casey always does well with in their writing.

A queer tale set in the romantic landscape of Europe. I don’t know what to say, full on sun and sex (a lot of sex), McQuisten takes us on a journey about what a relationship means, alongside a gorgeous description of food and drink. The characters were so believable I felt like I was walking with them. A throughly enjoyable read and would read again!
