Bride (a curvy bussinesswoman that has just broken up with a sleazy boyfriend and is feeling a bit down when in walks) Vane (a shape shifting white wolf). The attraction is instant but she is concerned that her size would never be a turn on to someone as hot as Vane. Vane can't take is eyes or mind off Bride. He remebers seeing her when he was gaurding Selena and wonders was she would feel like against him. He wants her bad. This was a great against all odds story and I loved the chemistry between Bride and Vane.
Bride and Vane (Were-Hunter) are very unique. Bride tells herself how can Vane (a handsome hot RICH stud) be attracted to her (a curvy average woman). But they get hot and heavy (no pun intended) and the sparks fly higher than I've ever seen them go. I just loved the chemistry between Vane and Bride. I loved Vane's background and his struggle. He had as much (if not more) to deal with as Bride and her personal image issues. It was great.

I first read this a long time ago and remembered it fondly, probably because it was some of the first paranormal I read. I decided to buy the audio companion. It was not as good as I remembered. The heroine comes off as an idiot, at times. The hero is supposed to be very close to his animal self and despite being centuries old, doesn't have much human interaction. But, he's a regular at a ritzy restaurant and has a bunch of money from "investments". He seems rather hip to the human way, when it's convenient.

Loved this one! Vane gets his story-yay! Bride(weird name, sweet girl) is great. Love them. I have a soft spot for Werewolves. He and his siblings have such a sad story.
I also am now intrigued by Fury(love him!) and Fang, Ash is back, and more adorable than ever(i love him) Wren is interesting, Valarius too. He and Auto have a fun dynamic. It's sweet that Bride and Val are friendly. Seems like he needed it. Something i really enjoy about this book is that pretty much everyone falls for Bride. I love that for her and Vane. It's kinda like they get a pack/found family. And its not because she is the most beautiful, or special snowflake, its just because she is kind, and she offers friendship, and a little bit because they all love(secretly-because men) Vane. I love that for him too. *Squish.
The time travel stuff, and the different creatures that Vanes parents are was pretty confusing, but the justice his parents receive was satisfying.*
*I just went back and reread it, because i missed some of the lore. I understand it more now.
All of these characters are growing on me more and more.
Im not sure that, in Brides place(seriously, this series has the weirdest names, for real...) i would have any of the reactions, trust, or self confidence that she does, but i must say it is refreshing to see her life play out the way it does, and that things work out for her. Her approach is definitely the less expected route, but i loved it.
Her sister made me really upset with her harsh words, even if she meant the best, and was really trying to give some hurtful truth, but Brides reaction to that was also unexpected.
There is a little weirdness sprinkled into this story, and some definitely not PC attitudes (i could really do without the men with ponytails stereotype, and the tall-tall stuff, which really isn't my taste, and dates the story a little, but i can ignore/rewrite that cannon in my head) and the old school non-PC content i find to be a breath of fresh air, and actually enjoy it a little, because Im old, and can appreciate it.
Overall, i think this one was my favorite so far, but i have really enjoyed most of these early books in the series so far. I have no doubt i will reread them. There are a few things i would change, but love stories are excellent.

Loved the intro into the Wolves!!! I enjoyed this book, just as all the other Dark-Hunter books.
Despite all my complaining, it was nice to have the story set back in good old New Orleans.
Loved Bride’s character a lot and enjoyed the brief reprieve from the Dark Hunter POV. Loved seeing all of my favorites have cameos, but mostly enjoyed not having to see Artemis.

This is a book I would typically read and appreciate the recommendation from my very thoughtful GoodReads buddy. Once she told me that she really likes romance novels, I had to ask which one(s). She was very generous in educating me about the various genres within the romance canon and suggested I read this one - which I really enjoyed. I thought it was fun, suspenseful, and fresh. I hope to revisit more of the books she recommended but will have to pace myself due to my pursuit of my Ph.D.
