There was good things in this Holiday romance and some really bad things in this Holiday romance. I liked both characters Sarah/Sally and Travis. I liked the way they communicated, how they went about 'falling' into a relationship but man, the sex scenes were... well.. not purple because it was purple prose but ... well.. uncomfortable. The author didn't use classic euphemisms like 'throbbing member' she used the right words but the way the scenes were structured... uncomfortable and boring. Two things I do not want in sex scenes.

The whole writer persona for Sarah/Sally is well done and the single father extraordinaire is also well done. The plot is clichés, on top of clichés but sometimes I give that a pass when the writing is good. Here the writing is adequate, clinical.

Not an author or a series I will revisit.

While I was really looking forward to a cute, festive Christmas-y read with lots of love, I was soon to be bored with a way too popular pattern: young, little bit chubby teenager with braces who confessed her immortal love to the popular bad guy (on his wedding day) turns out to be the super hot chick living in Manhattan a few years later who has to face her past when coming back to this little town in Texas where she used to spend summers and Christmas. Of course, now the hot bad guy falls desperately for her, plus, he's divorced but caring for his adorable daughter. Girl plays tough but is soooo vulnerable, has to be rescued by the hot guy (because she's basically a little stupid) and when they ended up making out in a Rangers' hut in the forest while there's a storm outside, I decided that there's no need to finish this book.

I decided to give a second star though because of the background story, a wonderful grandma that makes cookies every year and all the cutesy stuff about putting a cookie underneath the pillow in the night before Christmas because then one will dream of their true love, AND of course because of the Cookie Club made of a bunch of weird old ladies. All that was very cute and I liked it very much, unfortunately the main story couldn't keep up with that.
