Just the sort of slightly whimsical, extra dark fantasy story that I've always enjoyed. The world that McGuire has set up is so interesting, with near infinite possibilities for more stories within it.

This book was very fast paced and left us lacking with lots of questions. The diversity felt forced. It was very Miss Peregrines mixed with Narnia but didn’t quite deliver for me. I really wished I liked this one more, considering the story continues. I didn’t like it enough to continue with the series.

This book is soooooo amazingly unique and imaginative and spectacularly written. If you like fleshed out characters and their interactions with each other (along with a slight murder mystery to keep things interesting), I would 100% recommend Every Heart a Doorway.

I had a great time reading the book.  The author's writing and narration style was amazing and so was the whole story.  It was refreshing to read this story.

I would’ve enjoyed a few more pages to expand some detail so it’s less rushed. The ending is good but would’ve loved what was being set up instead of it.
