‘You’re nobody’s rainbow. You’re nobody’s princess. You’re nobody’s doorway but your own, and the only one who gets to tell you how your story ends is you.’

DNFed. Did not understand the hype in the slightest sadly. 60% of the way through and could not figure out where it was going or why.

Thank God it was less than 200 pages. One of the worse books I’ve read this year. The characters are awful and the topics are so ridiculous.

The marketing (title, cover) for this book is really bad. The book inside was very different than I expected, and better. The cover made me think Christian/spiritual type content. The actual content reminded me of Fables - playing around with stories and myths but in a familiar setting. The vibes were more Tim Burton/Alice in Wonderland. A murder mystery plays out on this interesting background. I found this book very charming and easy to read. A dash of queer content, and memorable characters and concepts. I read it in 2 sittings, pretty short.
