Hooked from the first chapter!

AJ Merlin has done a fantastic job with book one of this trilogy and I am obsessed!

First off, Blair is extremely relatable with her anxiety.
Oliver is the sweet golden retriever energy, with a dark twisty side.
Rook… oh Rook… he doesn’t hide his darkness, it’s in everything he does and he is so delicious in is dark and dominant ways.

The spice is slow, but so hot once it comes… as is the chemistry. I can’t wait for them to delve more into Blair’s pet side.

It’s hard for me to pick a favorite AJ book, but this one is up there! The serial unalivers are a bit different than her usual, as they’re not out there using their compulsion to make the world a better place, avenge those they care about (usually), or k!ll!ng as their job…
I really liked seeing Blair build the relationships both online and IRL, while stepping a bit outside of her comfort zone—both as a camgirl and in a class she’s a little uncomfortable in.
I can’t pick just one guy, as I love they way they play off each other and provide Blair with different needs.
While it’s not SUPER spicy, I totally understand why (hello… serial unalivers!) and can’t wait to see what happens if/as the relationships grow.

Eta—gah! And the audio was so good! I’m still so in love with Rook and his aloofness, and Oliver and his golden retriever puppy energy!

Wow!!!! I’m speechless. I love dark romance. And I love why choose. This book is the best of both worlds!

Blair: collage student, taking an elective she doesn’t really want to take. Needing some cash, she finds a fun way to make money online. Cam girl, with a fun little mask to disguise her identity. What could go wrong?
Blair finds herself in a sort of relationship that will make her and the reader question her sanity. Red flags be damned. I’m color blind i guess ;)

idk what AJ Merlin put in this book but holy HELL, will return with a more in depth review after reading book two but OH MY GOD IM OBSESSED, Oliver is the golden retriever dark romance hero of my dreams

Edit: I am back. After finishing book 2 I feel like I can appreciate the suspense and mystery vibes of this book that surrounded Oliver and Rook. It kept me completely hook on what was coming next that I felt unable to put it down. The moves they were pulling to get Blair to see they belonged together I was EATING UP. I was putty in their hands honestly. The tug of war Blair did in her mind regarding being with them felt very real and I really enjoyed her as an fmc. Olivier, man I can NOT get enough of this man. He is so complex, especially as the "golden retriever" character of this story that I fell for him FAST. They dynamics between Rook and Oliver already had me hooked but their added chemistry with Blair makes me want to read book after book of this couple!

I don’t…understand…what’s happening…?
Is she actually dumb or is her behaviour gonna change in the next book?
I’m unfortunately not curious enough to read the sequel.

The reason behind Oliver behaving the way he was, seemed like a weak excuse. Blair's character was just too boring for me to keep going with. And the story just didn't flow for me.
