This book was a dark romance and may have triggers, so check the trigger warnings in the beginning.
This was my first A.J. Merlin book, so I didn’t know what to expect. The beginning was a bit slow, but once the story really started, I was hooked!
There were some predictable parts, but other parts shocked me. The men are morally grey, yet they’re lovable. There were some spicy scenes, but I wouldn’t say they were super spicy.
The ending wasn’t really a cliffhanger, but it left a lot to think and wonder about. All I know is, I’ll be reading the next book!

If you like dark and twisted but absolutely devoted serial killers then this is definitely the book for you. It's book 1 of 3 with the last one coming out next month and I cannot wait to delve in. This one is going on my Favorite Reads of 2024 shelf for sure

I enjoyed this serial killer romance especially the first 50%. The book is based on Blair and Oliver and they definitely had chemistry from their first meeting. The story line kept me intrigued and I liked the characters mainly. It was a fast paced gritty story that definitely had dark elements included.

I've read from this author before and loved how unhinged the book was. But I didn't expect it this to be such as for a chunk of this book it gave of different vibe but then it completely went insane. In a good way. Not the most unhinged nor insane but definitely had me hooked. I'm very thankful I've already bought the second one.

DNF @ 80% tik tok fooled me again.
I saw a snippet and the plot sounded interesting! I didn’t realize it was a F/M/M situation which isn’t my fav trope. But omg all the characters are so bland, I felt no connection between any of them.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to review this considering I literally started to skim after 13 chapters but fear not!
The “Trope Jail” series has perfectly articulated into words what I was feeling here with this novel!
This is a solid story. I love the ML’s, I love how messed up they are, I think the university setting is cute and all the cute little twists and turns we find within this novel.
Here’s where it losses me and therefore, my interest. The FL is booooooooooorrrriiiiiiinnnngggg! ✨

I will say it did get better, aka not as annoyingly juvenile, after Ch. 12.
I'll bump it up from 2 stars to 3 stars bc the smut saved the narration honestly. Camming and some surprise pet play with plugs. Ended kinda abruptly.
