One of my favorite things about this book was how delicately and effectively the life of a non binary person was explored. I liked how the book showed that not everyone is always happy and accepting, but some are.
I liked both characters and seeing their relationship. However, I did feel like everything developed very quickly and randomly. The trope of always solving things with sex also really gets on my nerves.
However, this was a very fun read. I absolutely love when books center around reality TV shows, so I wish we would have gotten more of that as opposed to a stream of consciousness sort of writing whenever they cooked. But this was a very enjoyable book that I really enjoyed.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it was the first time reading a romance with a non-binary character. Can't wait to find more!

The moment the bookseller at my local B&N mentioned that "the book kicks off on a cooking reality show and the MC completely eats shit while presenting her food" I was in.
Dahlia and London are such a fun couple and the concept of falling in love on a cooking competition show (and then having to deal with that) is a great set up with interesting built in conflicts and complexities. London dealing with publicly coming out to the world as non-binary is dealt with such grace and love and this was an absolute joy to read during pride month.
The only reason I'm really taking off a star is for one sex scene that involves copious amounts of food which just gave me too many "Oh god, please don't get a yeast infection" vibes. Other than that, I loved it and can't wait to read more of Anita Kelly's work.
