This book was awesome. I loved it and I totally connected to Ove because he is very much like my grandpa who has now passed and it just made me happy to read this book. It was amazing! A little slow at times, but I think that made sense for the book.

I have no words. This book is simply a masterpiece. I have never felt deeper emotions for a book and am utterly grateful I got myself to read it. I might feel broken inside now but I do not regret this read whatsoever. Ove is the best man ever and I will start seeing men like him in a very different light now.

Wow, I’m surprised this book has such a high ranking here. I really didn’t connect with the writing style. There were some endearing moments, but not my book.

I can't say I was in complete love with this book. Because even though I know it's Fredrick's style to make characters hold a grudge against others about certain things (such as what car they drive, where they work etc.) I couldn't hide my cringe while listening to those parts. (I say listen because I listened to this book and the narrator did a fantastic job, so I recommend it) I also promise you if you get sad at the beginning or in the middle of the book and want to drop it don't. The end is SO satisfying, it was lovely. I was really sad at the end but how we get there is beautiful.

Ove from the outset is a cranky old man. He has had enough of this world and wants to end his life. However, he soon learns there is more to this life through his neighbours.
