Fredrik Backman knows how to write perfectly imperfect complex characters. We probable all know a Ove, and I think thats the magic of the story.
I was laughing and crying all the time, while also being in love as Ove, and as angry as Ove.
I´m not sure what´s the right way to describe the book, other than as a rollercoaster, that will take you on a fun but emocional trip.

My first five star read of 2023! I enjoyed this book from cover to freaking cover. A Man Called Ove was just such a wonderful and heartwarming story. It’s one of those books that reminds you why you love to read. I laughed, I cried, and I felt a whole lot of other emotions inbetween. This book was the perfect balance of discussing some darker themes while also maintaining a feeling of overall lightness and humor. I can already tell this is going to be a new comfort read for me and I will be recommending it to everyone I know. I am so glad I picked this up and I can’t wait to see the movie coming out with Tom Hanks as Ove/Otto!

Minor spoiler (both are introduced early on in the story), but I do want to put a trigger warning out there for loss of a loved one and attempted suicide.

This book made me think so much about my grandparents and my parents , that feeling they must have when they’re just alone , it really made me cry so bad I really really liked it.
