Part 1 worked the best for me. Clare seems half-formed as a character. My impression was that the author needed a woman, didn’t know how to motivate her, and settled on having a baby because sure, girls like babies, right?

some of my favourite themes in a book: gay, stoners, incredibly co-dependent friendship and 70s music

I guess I am just not meant for Michael Cunningham. While I found the writing style to be beautiful is this book, I just didn’t care about any of the characters.

I am in love with this book. I can relate to all three characters in some capacity (mostly with Bobby). I just knew from the first page that this book will be my favorite book in 2019. Even though it's February, I'm sure of it.
