I loved Molly’s personality and old fashioned speech patterns in The Maid, and was happy to find out there was a sequel. I enjoyed this a lot, pacing was good, there was just one small plot hole I couldn’t quite get past. I also love it when there’s a book within the book.

I'm so happy to spend time with Molly the Maid again.  The dual timeline allowed us to spend more time with Molly as a child and her grandmother.  Similar to Alexander McCall Smith, it's not the mystery that is important.  It's Molly's (neurodivergent) voice.
