๐˜—๐˜ถ๐˜ฃ ๐˜‹๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ฆ: 2021 and the sequel is out now

Thank you @prhaudio for the free review copy!

Just please go read this now if you have not already. This book had a lot of hype: it was well deserved. I did not expect how funny this book would be and if youโ€™re able to get the audio, DO IT! I love books narrated by the author and Steven Rowley @mrstevenrowley is no exception - outstanding narration! Iโ€™d recommend that over the physical. Everyone needs a GUP (Gay Uncle Patrick)!

When out of work Hollywood actor Patrick becomes primary guardian of his young niece and nephew whoโ€™ve recently lost their mother, he is completely out of his element. Somewhere along the way, he gets into a groove, teaches them some important life lessons (โ€œGuncle Rulesโ€) while they all deal with grief in various forms...And who knows, Patrick might learn a thing or two as well.

This book normalizes being yourself, wearing what you want to wear, being uniquely you. The neighbors next door are a throuple going by the acronym JED and honestly every character including the dog made me laugh. This is truly more of a funny and hopeful book than a sad one. Patrick is the snarkiest, I wanted be his bestie. Please read.

Guncle Rules, a selection in no particular order:

๐Ÿซฃ I feel like Iโ€™m in the minority with this book and my rating. But it just didnโ€™t work for me.
I read this for a Summer Reading Prompt and was excited by the synopsis! It sounded like it was going to be heartfelt and a little emotional. But I didnโ€™t find it enjoyable at all, cringy more like it. And thatโ€™s probably just a me problem. The beginning was good, but then it got kinda repetitive, the humor fell flat and I was bored.
