Story Time: Holy Toledo (yes I said that) This book eff'd my mind so bad but I loved that. It's still stuck in my mind even though I read the book back in... Sophomore Year? But I came across the series back in the 7th grade and I read it with the class delinquent (cause at my middle school we had a white kid who was trouble but he loved some good books, I wonder if he ever got a library card...)
Verdict: Yooooooou knoooow! If you don't then read my blog entries within the first year of its inception. (If you didn't get the Friday reference, then yeah I loved it!)
Why Rika?: Well like I said, I loved Vlad since I was 12 and young. Vlad is so relatetable (even if he's a boy, he's cute). I saw some bad reviews about the series but I think people look at the outrageous parts but miss the subtle lessons that Vlad learns in the five years that has caused him so much pain. Everyone basically comes together and, as expected, sh*t happens and a slightly happy ending is followed though a cliffhanger? Not cool Aunty Heather (*finger wag*). I just hope we find out in Slayers Chronicles or a novella about Snow comes out (I've actually been curious about her since her introduction into the series in [b:Tenth Grade Bleeds|7811923|Tenth Grade Bleeds|Heather Brewer|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1348877644s/7811923.jpg|4984643])
SpoilerLike everyone else, I was pissed the f**k off when Thomas took Nelly's life (son of a bitch!!!) And Snow becoming a vampire (I actually thought she died, she scared me just as much as Vlad was about it). It was nice that she got with Vlad be cause Meredith became annoying to me after I read [b:Eleventh Grade Burns|7807269|Eleventh Grade Burns|Heather Brewer|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1348891564s/7807269.jpg|6876567]. And just when Eddie Poe couldn't get anymore annoying (little sh*t!), Em turns him into a vampire. Way to go Em (*slow clap*) You released a real monstrosity on the human and vampire race

Hrm. Not the best ending this series could have gotten.

Actually, the ending kind of stank entirely. :( Vlad totally overreacted when Snow "died." Some of the death scenes at the end of the novel were incredibly rushed and smacked the reader across the face, leaving us with a breathless, "Wait, what just happened?" sort of feeling.

There was really no time to mourn any of those who passed. And Nelly's funeral only got one and a half pages, which was pathetically short for someone so very central to the storyline since book one.

Not only that, but I can't say I was shocked to find out the truth about Vlad's father. His reemergence into the series for just the last book, all willy-nilly, was simply far too fishy to just roll with.

The last few lines in the book still have me wanting more. Somehow, I get the inkling that Vlad's going to get a sequel, perhaps taking place in Stokerton University?

Only time will tell....

This was a pretty solid ending to the series. I've got to day though, name-dropping a Seether song from a 2004 album in a book that came out in 2010 made for a great laugh. That song would have had to have been 5 years old at least in story, being played at a high-school Halloween party lol

Also, the Nelly thing was a real downer. Made me feel just a touch sad, which is saying something for a series that I no longer care much about.

***SPOILER ALERT!!!! SPOILER ALERT!!!!***

OMG!!!!! I LOVED IT!!!!! Sooooo actiony! i wish that Vikas hadn't been bad. I also wish Nelly hadn't died. But, even so, no truly good story can have a completely happy ending. Although, this one was a little too bitter, it was still sweet. The ending, however, made me feel like there was going to be a sequel......... hmmmmm.

Best Line? "Vlad wiped her lip gloss from his lips with the back of his hand. Vampires, after all, didn't sparkle."

Take That Twilight!!!:)

I read this series about 8-9 years ago in my early preteens. And my memory of this is that’s the entire series is fantastic. But I know if I got back and read it now In this current day I would hate the entire series. So as a result I am not going to reread it and leave it as a pleasant memory in my head and give each book five stars because that’s what I would’ve gave it when I read it. This is for you 11 year old me.

All I will say is holy bleeping bleep. There is no way I could possibly give a review of this book without feeling the urge to talk about my favourite parts. All I can say is that I am very pumped with how Heather Brewer wrote this series and the developments.

My notes:
May 29, 2012 – page 134
41.23% "It's the last book. I plan to savour it. Not gonna read this one too fast. It's not the last book. It's not the last book. It can't be the last book."
June 4, 2012 – page 134
41.23% "Taking a break from this book for now. It's not the book or the author, i'm just not really getting into vampires at the moment. So far it's amazing though."
