I really enjoy this! The first half I this I really enjoyed and related to a lot of the poems or they give me goosebumps. Then there’s was this switch into like a novel and I didn’t really enjoy that it just confused me. The story made sense but not in this setting I felt. Then it went back to poems and I enjoyed those but not as much as the first half. The art work was good as well. This deals with a lot of heavy topics so look up trigger warnings.
Graphic: Sexism, Domestic abuse, Gaslighting, Rape, Religious bigotry, Hate crime, Sexual assault, Racism, Self harm, Grief, Deportation, Injury/Injury detail, Islamophobia, Physical abuse, Pregnancy, Colonisation, Emotional abuse, and Violence

This is the first poetry book I've read. I find I need to read it in chunks, to make sure I'm properly absorbing everything I read. As a Sikh Canadian I really identified with the themes in this book and it made me think and reflect a lot. Will definitely be picking up Jasmin's novel!
Moderate: Alcoholism, Alcohol, Xenophobia, Violence, Sexual violence, Self harm, Racism, Physical abuse, Mental illness, and Genocide
