I’ve heard a lot of great things about Freida McFadden so I was excited to finally read one of her books.
The book is about Dr Nora Davis, a young surgeon whose father is a serial killer convicted of killing thirty women when Nora was a child. When two women are found murdered who both have links to Nora, she becomes a prime suspect. There are red herrings throughout that left me questioning until the end, but two sentences about halfway through gave me a good idea of who the killer was.
While this isn’t a literary masterpiece, it’s a book you can read in a day or two, and I’m sure I will be reading more by this author when I need a quick and easy read.

I love coming back to Freida’s books which are always a refreshed welcome back to any reading slump. This book was no different. The story line was engaging throughout and had me guessing all over the place as usual. I was so convinced I had cracked this one and even though I was very close, yet again, Freida got me! Only 0.5 stars off a 5 because it wasn’t as good as my favourites of Freida’s.

I thought the story itself and the twist were pretty decent. The writing just felt clunky, though, and seemed like super unnatural dialogue. I also think part of this rating is based on my dislike of the audiobook narrator’s voice rather than the actual content.
