Part gender/DEI nonfiction primer, part memoir, all heart. My favorite parts were when the author spoke about his experience coming out to his grandparents and his reflections on the intersection of his trans and Korean identities—I wish there was more of this but appreciate he shared any of his story so openly.

read as a long-time follower of schuyler, and agree with many other reviews. presents many gender studies 101 topics and concepts in a clear, concise, well-researched way with patience, empathy, and compassion. i would recommend as a modern primer for anyone looking for a book covering gender, trans justice, and intersectionality at their most foundational.
