я ожидала, что это будет еще один «роман про мебель». Как Век Невинности Эдит Уортон.
Но для романа про мебель, мебели здесь было очень мало… а без этого и сюжет, и персонажи совсем скучные.
От такого жанра я жду, что утону в прекрасном описании красок и окружения того века, но тут… как-то не удалось

Not at all what I imagined, so melancholic.
The beginning of book 2 almost lost me but after persevering I found it to be almost overindulgently nostalgic laced with sadness.
As someone who struggles with the concept of change, I found this book perfectly encapsulates feeling as though your memories and past is a constant thought in the present.
