I post on threads about a book that made you want to throw it in the garbage can inspired me to come back and review this book I read two years ago.

This book is garbage. I had no interest in being in that awful man’s head for so long.

The only times he brings up his wife (the only mention of a woman in the entire book) he introduces her using what her breasts look like in the particular memory he’s thinking about. Even when it’s in reference to their young child.

There are much better apocalyptic/dystopian books out there. Please don’t bother and especially don’t give more money to this asshat author.

What even was the point of this book. It was bleak, it was sad at first, then boring as all the father and son did was walk the road and try to survive. It had no ending, no resolution. And I don’t mean ‘no resolution’ as in you have to ponder on it..I mean it had none at all. Hard pass.

It was fine. The lack of punctuation and having to reread to figure out if the father or the boy said it was very annoying, so the book begs to be skimmed. But it's worth reading I suppose.

I actually really enjoyed this book. I definitely think everyone should read it at least once.

This is a stark, post-apocalyptic world where our main characters, the man and the boy traverse south along roadways for a better outcome. I think we all knew the ending,
that the man wouldn't make it sadly. It's a little hopeful for the boy if the other man that found him was truthful.
There are chilling moments, and I got TLOU vibes w/o the zombies.
Kinda hard to read at first, but once adjusted it was a quick read!
