It took me a few days to get over the fact that this book ended. Seriously, I was having so much fun with it that I wanted it to keep going. I half wanted to read the book again before reviewing but couldn't find the time. Will do that soon, though.

The protagonists are Foster and Zach. Foster is Zach's best friend's twin brother. Seth, the best friend, has always been quite protective of Zach so he's always stated that Zach was off-limits to his brother. But when Zach transfers to a different college, the one that Foster goes to, the protectiveness makes Seth ask Foster to make sure Zach's doing okay. And suddenly, the off-limits rule gets very hard to stick to. For both Foster and Zach.

Before Zach transferred, he and Foster didn't spend much time together, especially not without Seth. But now, they're finally starting to get to know each other. Foster sees Zach as the funny, smart and adorable-as-fuck nerd that he is. And Zach's always had a bit of a crush on the handsome, charming hockey player, who he doesn't think would ever be interested in him. And nothing happens at first.

This is a low-angst, slow-burn friends-to-lovers story. It's funny, both the protagonists are so fucking sweet, and the romance is as adorable as it gets. And even though Zach and Foster are quite different, they get along really well, something that comes as a surprise to the two of them as well. That's where the romance comes in.

But my favourite part of the book is the choices that were made, both by the authors and the characters. I just finished watching a show in which all the characters made a lot of bad choices that caused unnecessary drama. And I know that's something shows do to keep the views interested. But this book never did any of that. There were so many instances where the authors could have chosen a direction that would cause angst and conflict. But they didn't, and it was still an amazing read. I never wanted the book to end.

I liked the writing and the tone, and I loved how happy the book is. I also loved Zach and Foster, their friendship, and their maturity. I loved that they were both confident in who they were.

This book was such a joy to read, and I highly recommend it. I sincerely hope the authors will work together again in the future. There are definitely side characters that could use their own story. Though I love Eden Finley on her own, too. I haven't read anything else by Saxon James. Might have to get on that. More books for the TBR list, I guess...
