This continues to be one of the most gorgeous comics out there. Takeda is an amazing artist and the monsters and scenery really pop. The story is really good and makes me want to go grab the third volume.

Also, because it made me grin like crazy: old scarred shark-woman sailor! She's amazing, and I want more of her and the rest of the crew.

This first one was cool, but didn't really do it for me. This one, though, was seriously awesome. I'm loving this aesthetic, this art, and this world.

Bullet Review:

I never read past volume 1 the last time around, because apparently, I was too dense to see what a great story this was. Maika heads to the open seas to retread the path her mother took and to learn more about the mysteries of the photo and what dark monstrosities hide inside her. We learn a whole lot more about what Maika is, this world around her and what she must do to excise the "demons" from her. All in all, this is an incredibly clever story, different than I've seen, and I'm excited to jump into Volume 3.
