This book is very funny and enjoyable to read. There are some heartwarming bits as well.

My 6yo and I loved reading this book from my childhood! Pippi is an absolute icon.

I was not too much of a Pippi fan after the first book, but it was my daughter that kept asking for more Pippi night after night. She was thrilled the Pippi adventures continued. She was sad for Tommy and Annika at Pippi's departure. My daughters enthusiasm for Pippi became contagious. Some areas of the book were long winded, so I would do selective editing while reading aloud.

Bedtime book for Charlotte. She is crazy in love with Pippi, to the point of making us call her Pippi and wanting to be Pippi for Halloween. When asked, her favorite part was when Pippi decided not to go with her father and came back to be with Tommy and Annika.

It was nice to see something that was so strongly a part of my mom’s childhood and have it remind me of when I was a kid reading similar books out loud to her. However, it must be mentioned that the way this book treats indigenous communities is horrendous, definitely did not age well. Overall, a book that has emotional meaning but lost points for the parts that aged poorly.
